THE SNAPS BACK DANCE
One of the most important ideas in Media Masters Rock is this: anything you post on social media can snap back on you — just like a rubber band.
To help bring that message to life, my friend AB (Anthony Brooks) wrote a fantastic, high-energy dance song called “Snaps Back Dance.”
It’s fun, it gets kids moving, and most importantly, it helps the message stick — not just in their minds, but in their hearts… and if we’re doing it right, their muscle memory too!

Our Media Masters Rock ED VIDEOS are short, fun, and direct. Each video explains the rules for being a better 21st century digital citizen. But we wanted to make the lessons even more fun, so my friend Anthony Brooks (that’s his head right above this paragraph), and I wrote some short beat-box songs for each lesson. Each song lyric video is catchy, cheeky, and fun to read along with. They are a great way to extend the digital literacy lessons in a fun way.

SECTION 4 – SNAPS BACK DANCE
Anthony Brooks texted me one morning and it said, “why don’t we make a DANCE song?”
I said, “what do you mean?”
He said, “you know a song with super-simple dance-moves that kids can do. They can practice the moves, shoot a video, and then post THEMSELVES on social media doing SNAPS BACK DANCE. This could be done in gym classes, in classrooms, churches, or even families could do it at home.”
I said, “genius… lets do it.”
So we did!
Snaps Back Dance song takes the RUBBER BAND RULE idea (that everything you do on social media snaps back on you) and makes a fun and original dance song out of it.
It’s fun. It’s easy. Not only is it reinforcing the Media Masters idea, but the kids will get some air in their lungs and maybe even laugh a little.
